Welcome

Join us on our journey eating through our beautiful country South Africa. We will be testing out our country's variety of foods, which are as rich and as "rainbow like" as our nation. On our way we will stop by a few cinemas and watch a movie or two (We are after all movie fanatics) and if we have the money for it, do some adventures! Where to eat, what to watch or what to do in South Africa. We will try it out for you and let you know what is best. We start our journey in Gauteng. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Restaurant: Delano's Continental Restaurant (Kollonade)

We found it suiting to eat at this restaurant as we had just watched a movie that plays out in Italy (Letter To Julliet).

We had the Salitimbocca, it was a very good meal. The veal had a somewhat strong vinaigrette taste but it was very tasty. The Panzerotti was the best of the mains though, the pasta had parmesan and spinach filling and it was a good combination and gave the dish a lot of different colours.

We had oysters and gave it a 50% (as two of us liked it and the other two didn't).

For dessert we had Peppermint Crisp Tart, La Veneziana, Black Cherry Cheesecake and Creme Brulee.

The dessert was quite exciting.
Everyone was sitting tensely watching what was unfolding in front of them, the ball was being toshed all over the plate, then just like when Tshabalala scored the goal everyone cheered...we broke through the chocolate shell of the La Veneziana. Then when we finished with the dessert there was a moment similar to when Mexico scored an equalizer...we received the bill -so we won't dwell on this.

Movie: Letters to Juliet

This was a really good movie. It had a great storyline.

It was a somewhat soppy, romantic story with a humorous twist. Don't worry there's no need for tissues though (but maybe that depends on how prone you are to crying). It occasionally felt a bit predictable but overall it was a good movie and we really liked it a lot.

Restaurant: Emoe Restaurant (Hartbeespoort)

We had the Emoe Breakfast, a French breakfast and samoosas.

Everything was good and the samoosas were nice, very cheesy (as in it had alot of cheese because it was cheese samoosas). The staff was very friendly and here's a guide to the toilet, when you go to the bathroom go to either "etoti" (men's) or "eteti" (women's).

Gauteng Motor Show 5-6 June 2010 (Zwartkops Raceway)

The motor show was coooool. There was something for every motorhead.

The drifting and X-cross was interesting and exciting sites to see. The images speak for themselves, but to truly appreciate the events you had to be there. So check out the weblink and make sure that you're there next time there's a motor showcase.

Movie: Prince of Persia (IMAX)

It was AWESOME!!!

Watching Prince of Persia in an IMAX cinema was definitely the right move.
Each action sequence was cool, the BIG screen made you look in every direction to make sure you don't miss anything. We think it might be one of our favourite movies this year. The movie isn't exactly the same as the game, but it does deliver a great experience. We think that whether your a fan of the game or not you'll really enjoy this movie.

And it has Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan, enough said.

Miss this movie and you'll miss out.
